Towards a theory of measurement-altered criticality
Local measurements can change the long-distance correlations of quantum critical states. In this talk, I will discuss how weak measurements affect Tomonaga-Luttinger liquids, a broad class of one-dimensional critical systems. Using a theoretical framework that accounts for the intrinsic randomness of measurement outcomes, we show that weak measurements can give rise to unusual power-law correlations with logarithmic corrections and strongly non-Gaussian fluctuations. Finally, I will discuss how these findings fit into a broader picture of measurement-altered criticality, extending beyond Luttinger liquids to other quantum critical systems.
