MonitoredQuantumCircuits.jl: A Julia Framework for Designing and Executing Monitored Quantum Circuits - Master Defense

Quinten Preiß

A dual workflow involving both classical simulation and execution on real quan-
tum computers has become essential in quantum circuit research. Additionally,
incorporating measurements not only at the end but also as mid-circuit operations
has recently attracted significant interest, particularly within quantum condensed
matter physics. These so-called monitored quantum circuits can exhibit unique
entanglement properties that challenge traditional intuitions regarding measure-
ment and projection. This thesis introduces MonitoredQuantumCircuits.jl, a new
Julia-based framework designed specifically to simplify and unify this dual work-
flow, facilitating research concerned with monitored quantum circuits.
