Characteristic dynamics for emergent symmetry in transverse field Ising chains
One-dimensional quantum spin models are textbook examples for illustrating basic physical concepts. In this talk, I will present our recent studies of Ising-like quantum spin-chain ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic materials by using high-resolution terahertz spectroscopy and other complementary techniques in high magnetic fields [1-4]. In particular, I will focus on the observation of characteristic low-energy quantum spin excitations, possibly evidencing for emergent E8 symmetry [5].
