Universality classes for coupled Kardar-Parisi-Zhang equations

Herbert Spohn

Considered is the KPZ equation with two components, constrained to be symmetric
under exchange. This model is of interest in the context of exciton-polaritons condensates.
A central issue is to understand the phase diagram. We argue that, as for the single component,
the static scaling exponent is 1/2 and the dynamic scaling exponent is 3/2. More surprisingly,
the three-dimensional parameter space is foliated into two-dimensional universality classes.
This is joint work with A. Dhar, M. Kulkarni, Dipankar Roy, ICTS Bangalore.
