Some discussions about spin-1 and spin-orbital Kitaev models
This talk includes two works that have relation to the Kitaev model on the honeycomb lattice. In the first part, I will focus on the properties of the spin-1 Kitaev model, and discuss the controversial results about whether the spin-1 model is gapless. In the second part, I will talk about the spin-orbital generalizations of the Kitaev model, and transitions between topological phases featuring emergent fractionalized excitations. Reference: 1.
